New Moon Magic…

Do you believe your wishes can come true?

I have a keen interest in all things astrology – and shortly we will be experiencing the exciting April New Moon in the sign of Aries:

Sydney – 4 April 00:32 am AEST

Auckland – 4 April 2:32am NZST

London – 3 April 10:32am EDT

New York – 3 April 3:32pm BST

This is a very valuable time of the month – every month – to set your intentions for the future.

Each New Moon I take time to sit and write down 10 “wishes” or intentions I aim to manifest during the upcoming weeks, or months. You must make sure however, that you truly feel, or believe that you can manifest your desires. If you’re thinking deep down your intentions are not achievable, then your wishes really won’t come true!

Dedicating a moment to sit down, and set your intentions each month, enables you to really take time out (that you wouldn’t have otherwise) to focus on your true goals, dreams, passions and desires. Therefore this process is extremely valuable.

Just be sure to get specific with what you want to manifest – so that the universe truly understands what it is that you’re working towards. This will ultimately provide you yourself with a lot of clarity also.

The New Moon affects us all differently – depending on your star sign. This link will provide you with the information relevant to you!

And for those who have previously asked, or those that are wondering, the Astrology websites I regularly follow are Tarot.com, and the Australian Yasmin Boland (also found here).

Lastly, don’t forget! - At the end of the month, reflect back and see what you have achieved, and how you are flowing along on your life path!

Enjoy!

Rethink, Redo, Rewrite, Review, Renew – Mercury Retrograde ©

Astrology skeptics listen up! If not, you may regret it.

Around 24 hours ago, the planet Mercury turned retrograde, in the sign of Aries. The effects of each retrograde period differ, according to the sign in which it happens. Mercury is the ruler of thinking and perception, processing and disseminating information and all means of communication, commerce, education and transportation.

Mercury retrograde is a time when Mercury is said to go backwards, although it’s just an optical illusion, based on the relative speeds and orbits of the Earth and Mercury around the Sun.

Mercury goes retrograde approximately 3 times per year, and lasts for around 3 weeks. The beginning and ending stations (when Mercury becomes stationary before changing direction) are when the retrograde is the strongest.

So, how does this effect you??

Computers crash, delays in travel, software develops unexpected glitches, traffic jams, telephone freezes, emails get lost, machinery breaks down, miscommunications, new projects fail… you get the picture.

In fact, I know of 2 people whose computers have crashed, and they’ve lost everything.

Mercury retrograde is not a time to be feared, but to simply be prepared, patient and organised!

Here are some tips (precautions):

  • Avoid signing legal documents – contracts, loans, etc
  • Avoid changing careers or jobs during this period
  • Avoid launching new projects during the retrograde
  • Avoid making any big, life changing decisions
  • Allow extra time when traveling
  • Backup your computer/hard drive
  • Avoid purchasing new technological equipment – laptops, cameras, phones…and if you do, ensure you get an extended warranty
  • Do needed repairs on machinery before the retrograde period begins
  • Conduct all important communication with others prior to the retrograde period

Mercury retrograde is not always a bad thing. In fact, it is actually an ideal time to do some other things, like:

  • Complete a project already started
  • Research a new project thoroughly
  • Catch up on paperwork
  • Catch up on book reading
  • Do follow-ups on a project already started
  • Rethink any major decisions
  • Research any travel plans

This retrograde cycle will end (Mercury becomes stationary) on April 23rd 2011. And things will finally straighten out by May 11th 2011.

Have you, or anyone you know, experienced any of Mercury’s tricks lately? I would love to read your comments!

Namaste*
